“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
What a few weeks it has been? Now in the grips of panic and worry it seems our world has slammed on the brakes with everything coming to a stop. Thus, many of you are at home for an extended time with jobs closing or working from home. While we may be tempted to join in the worry, the world needs a fearless praying church. The bible promises Tribulation, but during these perilous times we find our strength comes from the Lord. The good news is that Jesus Christ has overcome the world and its tribulation. How do we respond to the crisis our world is experiencing? 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 gives the greatest instruction:
“13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
The answer is to turn our eyes unto the Lord and pray. The following are some challenges for the church over the next few weeks:
Challenges to Christians during this time.
- Strengthen your relationship with Christ through the study of his word and prayer.
- Take time to reset priorities to God and Family.
- Find opportunities to serve others if you can.
