Prayer Request and Family Fun Night Information

Good Afternoon Church Family,

We wanted to provide you with a few updates on events that are going on here at First Baptist Gordonsville.

We ask that you please be in prayer for Mr. Jerry Craighead and Mrs. Tina, he is in a hospital room now recovering. Remember Mrs. June McKinney she did have surgery last night and is recovering from this procedure. Mrs. Kim Winfree’s dad is in the hospital as well and is in need of our prayers.

Starting this Sunday Night through this summer at 6pm we will be having Family Fun Nights.  Each Sunday night will have a devotion along with games and activities for families. Tables will be set up for each family.

Church Service Updates 6-3-2020

Plans for June & July

Deciding the proper course of action for church activities for the near future has become a difficult decision. It is evident that not everyone will agree with any decision that is made. A survey of our teachers and workers revealed that 40% of our leaders are not prepared to resume full activities next Sunday.

Our staff and deacons met this week to pray and seek God’s directions for the next two months. The plan we have adopted for June and July is as follows:

  1. Continue the two services on Sunday morning.
  2. Conduct Family Fun nights for the Sunday P.M. service. This will be held in the gym. Each family will sit at a separate table. Some may combine as they choose to form one table. Each table brings its own snacks. Church will provide drinks. A devotion will be shared and family- oriented games will be played.
  3. Continue streaming online the Wednesday night service. (Youth have their meeting at Brother Jeremiah’s home.)
  4. Sunday School teachers for children and youth are asked to work with Brother Ryan to provide remote teaching opportunities for their classes.
  5. Any plan the adult Sunday School classes choose: Zoom, meeting during the 9:00 A.M. Worship service or at a different time is their choice.

Although this is not a perfect solution, we trust that our membership will work with us to make this plan as productive as possible.

Our God is not limited in how He can work. Let us pray for a move of God in our midst during these difficult days.

FBCG Survey

Good Morning Church Family, We are hope that you are doing well. As we begin the process of beginning normal activities and schedules over the next few weeks we are looking for your input. We are asking all of our Sunday School teachers, Children’s and Nursery workers to reply to this short survey to help us make decisions.

Easter Service Updates

Good Afternoon Church Family.  We wanted to send out just a quick update on our Drive- In Easter Services.  Listed below are some very important updates about these services. Please remember that we will be having two services.  The first service will be at 9:00am. The second service will be at 10:15. Livestream of the 10:15 service will be provided.

  • You will need to park in the back parking lot or on the side with the church office. Use the marked off parking spaces to begin with.  If needed then we will make room outside of those marked spaces.  If you park around the corner of the building on the fellowship hall side the Radio signal will not be powerful enough to reach your vehicle.
  • There will be no access into the church building.
  • Tithes and offering can be dropped off on either side of the driveways through the designated boxes.  On these tables will be bags of Easter eggs for children nursery to children’s church age.
  • Once at the church you will need to have your radio tuned to 90.5 fm to receive the signal from the stage.
  • We ask that you please stay inside your vehicle with windows up during the service.
  • Please be in prayer for the weather and technology during this event.

We hope that you can join us for these services!

Bro. Ryan.

  4. 90.5 FM currently is the station that we will be using to broadcast our services.
  5. Easter eggs bags will be provided on the table with the tithe boxes on either side for children. (Nursery thru Children’s Church)
