Church Service Updates 6-3-2020

Plans for June & July

Deciding the proper course of action for church activities for the near future has become a difficult decision. It is evident that not everyone will agree with any decision that is made. A survey of our teachers and workers revealed that 40% of our leaders are not prepared to resume full activities next Sunday.

Our staff and deacons met this week to pray and seek God’s directions for the next two months. The plan we have adopted for June and July is as follows:

  1. Continue the two services on Sunday morning.
  2. Conduct Family Fun nights for the Sunday P.M. service. This will be held in the gym. Each family will sit at a separate table. Some may combine as they choose to form one table. Each table brings its own snacks. Church will provide drinks. A devotion will be shared and family- oriented games will be played.
  3. Continue streaming online the Wednesday night service. (Youth have their meeting at Brother Jeremiah’s home.)
  4. Sunday School teachers for children and youth are asked to work with Brother Ryan to provide remote teaching opportunities for their classes.
  5. Any plan the adult Sunday School classes choose: Zoom, meeting during the 9:00 A.M. Worship service or at a different time is their choice.

Although this is not a perfect solution, we trust that our membership will work with us to make this plan as productive as possible.

Our God is not limited in how He can work. Let us pray for a move of God in our midst during these difficult days.

Easter Service Updates

Good Afternoon Church Family.  We wanted to send out just a quick update on our Drive- In Easter Services.  Listed below are some very important updates about these services. Please remember that we will be having two services.  The first service will be at 9:00am. The second service will be at 10:15. Livestream of the 10:15 service will be provided.

  • You will need to park in the back parking lot or on the side with the church office. Use the marked off parking spaces to begin with.  If needed then we will make room outside of those marked spaces.  If you park around the corner of the building on the fellowship hall side the Radio signal will not be powerful enough to reach your vehicle.
  • There will be no access into the church building.
  • Tithes and offering can be dropped off on either side of the driveways through the designated boxes.  On these tables will be bags of Easter eggs for children nursery to children’s church age.
  • Once at the church you will need to have your radio tuned to 90.5 fm to receive the signal from the stage.
  • We ask that you please stay inside your vehicle with windows up during the service.
  • Please be in prayer for the weather and technology during this event.

We hope that you can join us for these services!

Bro. Ryan.

Update on Church Schedule

Good Evening Church Family.  Before any updates we would like to extend our thanks to all of those who are meeting this challenging virus on the front lines.  Our medical personnel, law enforcement, grocery workers, truck drivers, and many others need our prayers and our encouragement during this time.

Last night the the staff and deacons met to discuss how we as a church will proceed under these unusual times.  I encourage you to read this full message as there are many updates.

Through much prayer, we have made the decision to cancel all activities through the month of April.  This decision was made to stay with the recommendations from the CDC and request from our state and federal leaders.  However this will not stop our online service broadcast. These will continue as they have for the past couple of weeks.

For viewing our live broadcast you will have three options.  1. You can watch our services right from our website under the livestream tab.  2.  You can watch from our Facebook group FBC Gordonsville.  3 You can watch live from Youtube.  In order to find our page,  search in YouTube First Baptist Church Gordonsville Tennessee.

We have made an update to the information about the giving of Tithes and Offerings.  We ask that you mail these in to the church office at 70 East Main Street, Gordonsville TN 38563.  We are in the process of getting online giving set up for the future and more details will be coming soon about this option.

We are thankful for your encouragement and prayers during this time as we seek to lead and guide in a Godly manner.  Please continue to pray for our country’s leaders as they make decisions.

The link below is a great article we wanted to share with you about how to worship online.

Announcement for Services 3/22/2020

Updates from the Church

Hello, church family, we look forward to tomorrow when we can worship God together through video services. This post contains important information regarding tomorrow’s services.

First, if you have the app, make sure that you have hit the refresh button at the bottom of the menu in the app. The symbol looks like this.  We have made some changes to the app to allow the livestream to be viewed through the app. I believe, that service issues with cell phones are causing some updates to be slowed in their delivery.  This update will help show the livestream option in the menu.

We are excited to announce tomorrow’s schedule.

At 9AM join us on the website, app, or Facebook for Sunday School.  Bro. Wayne Winfree will be teaching class through livestream.  We invite you to ask questions by comments on Facebook during the live stream.  This will allow us to have a time of growing in our understanding of God’s Word. Sunday School will end around 9:40.

Don’t Leave. The worship is just beginning!

At 9:55AM, our stream will start back up with a special message from

Winston and Emmy Coltart and Bro. Ray.

At 10AM, our Worship service will begin with a time of Praise and Worship, Prayer, and  Message from God’s word.

WE NEED YOUR HELP.  WE RECOGNIZE THAT NOT EVERYONE HAS FACEBOOK.  TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS THAT THE BEST WAY TO GET THESE SERVICES IS ONLINE AT OUR WEBSITE.  WWW.FBCGORDONSVILLE.COM

WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US IN THE MORNING.

IN CHRIST,

BRO. RYAN
